universities
We work with universities to build understanding of executive function and its impact on learning, teaching, and inclusion. Our training and talks are designed to support professional services teams in providing academic skills support, trainee teachers, and HR departments in developing an inclusive learning and working culture.
Academic Coach Training
We provide training in academic coaching using an executive function framework. This approach helps staff support students to develop the skills needed for independent learning, including planning, organisation, focus and self-regulation. The coach training combines psychological theory with practical coaching tools and frameworks that can be applied in one-to-one or small group settings.
Positive outcomes include:
- Enhanced social connections
- Improved academic outcomes
- Increased self-awareness
- Greater ownership of learning
- Increased well-being
- Skills for life
Supporting Future Teachers
For PGCE course providers, we offer sessions that explore how executive function affects learning and behaviour in the classroom. Trainee teachers are introduced to practical strategies for supporting pupils to manage their thinking and learning more effectively and creating inclusive classrooms that support all learners.
Inclusion and Executive Functions
We deliver talks and workshops for HR teams and university leaders that explore executive function through the lens of inclusion. These sessions highlight how expectations around organisation, time management and communication can unintentionally disadvantage some staff and students. We offer practical ways to build more flexible and inclusive practices.
